My name is David Ash. I design, build and manage small websites. The style of my work flows from the conviction that the best sites are simple, attractive and welcoming.
Our society is drowning in words and numbed by complexity. In a conscious departure from "muchness and manyness", I aim for simplicity, beauty and clarity, often incorporating digital photography. I create elegant, accessible sites using only the simplest of web technologies, coding each page by hand. I design the layout, but I give you control of the text within it. That means that you can edit the content of any page on your website using a simple content management system or CMS.
Because I avoid complicated designs, you will not find many bells & whistles here. Animations, pop-ups and most other moving parts are deliberately absent. That still leaves many options open, though.
Photo albums, maps and calendars, downloads of all kinds and password-protected areas for privileged users are possible.
Drop-down menus, video and audio can also be be added. If you are interested in a particular feature, please ask. I'll be happy to tell you what can be done.
AffordableIf your site contains 12 pages or less, I will build it and put it online for £250.
Once it is up and running, I charge a flat rate of £15 a month for maintenance, technical support and correspondence. See my Prices page for details.
